Antique & Classic Boat Society
Biography
The Antique & Classic Boat Society (ACBS) is the world’s largest boating organization. Its members have a common interest in and love of historic, antique and classic boats. ACBS protects the heritage of classic boating by promoting preservation, restoration and education.
ACBS has 57 chapters around the world supporting the mission and vision of the society. Many chapters offer boat shows, restoration seminars and community service projects. ACBS serves as the governing body for the hobby by 1) establishing the parameters of what constitutes a classic boat, 2) the standards by which classic boats are judged and scored, 3) acting as a communication channel for our membership, the public and other interested parties and 4) providing knowledge about restoration, preservation, classic boating education and safety. ACBS also provides scholarships to worthy students at selected schools who are learning about boat building and restoration techniques.
