The Clayton Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations in writing for Board of Director positions through August 31, 2025. This year there are 7 board positions eligible for nominations which carry a 3-year term.
A qualified nominee must be a qualified Active Primary Member and abide by the following guidelines:
- Nominations for a Board of Directors seat will only be taken from a Chamber Member whose business is in good standing and has held that status for one year.
- Nominees for a Board of Directors seat must be a representative of a business in good standing, who has held that status for one year.
- The business represented must be up-to-date on all financial responsibility to the Chamber.
- The Nominee should have served on a Chamber Committee within the last year or volunteered at a Chamber Event within the last year.
- A short bio of the Nominee should be included in the nomination for ballot purposes (if needed).
If nominations exceed the number of vacant positions, a ballot will be mailed to the Active Primary businesses no later than September 15th, with a return postmark deadline of September 30th. If the number of nominations does not exceed the 6 vacant seats then no ballots will be necessary.
There are 3 open seats, and the following directors are up for re-election: Charlie Albertson, 1000 Islands Snowmobile Club; Chris Bogenschutz, Riverside Media; Lori Randazzo, Coyote Moon Vineyards and there are two additional open board seats.
Newly elected Directors will take their seat at the November meeting. Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of the month at 4pm for the months of September through May (off June, July & August).

Active Primary Members: Any person, firm, association, or corporation that falls within the geographic boundaries, including contiguous (bordering) townships (Cape Vincent, Lyme, Brownville, and Orleans) as defined in Section 2 shall be an active primary member of the Chamber. This Membership includes eligibility for Board of Directors status and ballot voting rights. Additional businesses owned by an Active Primary Member are classified as a Business Listing entitled to a listing on the Chamber website and in the Visitor Guide under a maximum of three categories with no advertising or ballot voting rights. Membership takes effect upon full payment of Membership dues.
